Who builds PrimeDocu
PrimeDocu is built and maintained by Vivek Yadav, an independent software developer. Every feature in the app — the scanner, the PDF signer, the e-signature workflow, the AI summaries, and the encrypted vault — is designed, written, and tested by the founder. Every article on the PrimeDocu blog is published under his editorial responsibility.
Why PrimeDocu exists
Most document apps treat privacy as a paid add-on: encryption behind a subscription, watermarks on free scans, page limits on signing. PrimeDocu started from the opposite idea — the essential document tasks should be free, and privacy should be the default.
Scan, sign, convert, and edit are free with no watermark. Documents are encrypted with AES-256-GCM on your device, before upload — the encryption key stays in your phone's secure hardware (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), so our servers only ever store unreadable blobs. We could not read your documents even if we wanted to. You can read exactly how this works on the Security page.
How PrimeDocu is funded
The core app is free. Optional Pro and Premium plans add heavier AI usage and more storage — that, plus a small ad banner on the free mobile tier, funds the servers. There is no data selling and no advertising built on the contents of your documents (which we cannot read anyway).
The product
- Document scanner — on-device scanning (Apple VisionKit / Google ML Kit)
- PDF signer — draw, type, or photograph your real signature
- E-signature requests — send a document, recipient signs in the browser, full audit trail with SHA-256 checksums
- AI summaries — plain-English summaries before you sign
- Encrypted storage — 1 GB free, zero-knowledge design
PrimeDocu is available on iOS, Android, and the web.
